Switch operation

The windshield wiper and washer system in the Nissan Frontier is designed to provide clear visibility in all weather conditions and operates when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

Using the control lever, the driver can easily adjust wiping speed and activate washer fluid depending on driving conditions.

Push the lever downward to select the desired wiper speed in the Nissan Frontier:

1. Intermittent (INT) — provides adjustable intermittent wiping. The delay between wipes can be fine-tuned by rotating the control knob toward A (longer intervals) or toward B (shorter intervals), allowing precise control in light rain.
2. Low (LO) — activates continuous wiping at a steady low speed, suitable for moderate precipitation.
3. High (HI) — engages continuous high-speed wiping, ideal for heavy rain or intense conditions requiring maximum visibility.

Push the lever upward to position 4 (MIST) to perform a single wipe cycle. This feature in the Nissan Frontier is especially useful for quickly clearing light moisture or spray from the windshield.

Pull the lever toward you (position 5) to activate the windshield washer. Washer fluid will be sprayed onto the windshield, and the wipers will automatically perform several sweeps to clear the glass effectively.

This integrated system in the Nissan Frontier ensures optimal windshield cleaning performance with minimal driver effort.

WARNING

In freezing temperatures, washer fluid may freeze upon contact with the windshield, significantly reducing visibility and increasing the risk of an accident. Always use the defroster to warm the windshield before activating the washer system in your Nissan Frontier.

CAUTION

• Do not operate the washer continuously for more than 30 seconds, as this may damage the system components.
• Never activate the washer system if the reservoir is empty, as this can cause pump failure and reduce system lifespan.

Outside mirror defroster switch

The Nissan Frontier is equipped with an outside mirror defroster system that helps maintain clear rear visibility in cold or humid conditions.

To activate the mirror defroster, start the engine and press the defroster switch. When activated, the indicator light on the switch will illuminate, confirming that the system is operating.

Press the switch again to manually turn the defroster off if needed.

For convenience and energy efficiency, the defroster in the Nissan Frontier automatically switches off after approximately 15 minutes of operation.

This feature helps prevent unnecessary battery drain while ensuring effective defogging performance.
