Nissan Frontier: Parking brake
WARNING
- Always make sure the parking brake in your Nissan Frontier is completely
released before driving. Driving with the brake engaged can lead to overheating,
brake failure, and potentially serious accidents.
- Never attempt to release the parking brake from outside the Nissan Frontier,
as this may result in unintended vehicle movement.
- The shift lever must never be used as a substitute for the parking brake.
When parking your Nissan Frontier, always fully engage the parking brake to
secure the vehicle.
- To reduce the risk of injury or fatal accidents, never leave children,
individuals requiring assistance, or pets unattended inside your Nissan Frontier.
Interior temperatures can rise rapidly, especially in warm weather, creating
dangerous or life-threatening conditions.

To engage the parking brake in your Nissan Frontier, press the pedal down firmly
until it is fully set.
To release the parking brake safely:
1. Firmly press the foot brake pedal.
2. Move the shift lever into the P (Park) position.
3. Press the parking brake pedal again until it releases.
4. Before driving, confirm that the brake warning light has turned off to ensure
the system is fully disengaged.
