WARNING
CAUTION
Extended use of the hill descent control system may increase brake temperature. If overheating occurs, the system may temporarily deactivate and the indicator light may flash. If the indicator does not remain steadily illuminated, discontinue use until the system cools.
The hill descent control system in the Nissan Frontier is engineered to assist the driver when navigating steep downhill slopes by automatically controlling vehicle speed.
This allows the driver to focus primarily on steering while the system manages braking input.
To activate the hill descent control system in the Nissan Frontier, the following conditions must be met:
When activated, the Nissan Frontier hill descent control ON indicator light will illuminate. Additionally, the brake lights may illuminate as the system automatically applies braking to maintain controlled speed.
If the accelerator or brake pedal is pressed while the system is active, the hill descent control function will pause temporarily. Once the pedals are released and conditions remain appropriate, the system will resume operation.
If the indicator light flashes, it means that the required operating conditions are not met or the system has been temporarily disengaged.
To deactivate the hill descent control system, press the switch to the OFF position.
