For the Nissan Frontier, inspection or replacement of the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) should always be carried out by qualified professionals. It is strongly recommended to have this service performed by an authorized NISSAN dealer to ensure proper handling and to maintain optimal transmission performance.
CAUTION
Using incorrect fluids may lead to severe transmission damage, which is not covered under the NISSAN New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Power Steering Fluid (PSF)

Check the power steering fluid level in your Nissan Frontier with the engine turned off to ensure an accurate reading.
The fluid level should fall between the COLD MIN and COLD MAX markings when the fluid temperature is between 32º - 86ºF (0º - 30ºC). When the system is warm (122º - 176ºF / 50º - 80ºC), the fluid should reach the HOT MAX level.
If the fluid is cold and at or below the COLD MIN line, add Genuine NISSAN PSF-II or an equivalent fluid up to the COLD MAX level. If the fluid is hot and below the HOT MAX line, refill accordingly to the HOT MAX mark.
Remove the reservoir cap carefully and pour fluid slowly to avoid overfilling or spillage.
