The hill descent control system in the Nissan Frontier is specifically designed to assist the driver when descending steep inclines at speeds below approximately 15–21 mph (25–35 km/h). This system is particularly useful in off-road situations where engine braking alone, even in 4H or 4LO mode, is insufficient to safely control the vehicle’s speed.
